Cross-Institutional GE Course Enrollment Scheme
Starting from academic year 2015-16, Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and City University of Hong Kong (CityU) has launched the cross-institutional General/Gateway Education (GE) course enrollment scheme, which aims to enrich students’ experience in GE learning and widen their horizons through enrolling in GE courses offered by both institutions, benefitting from each other’s expertise.
Quota
Under this scheme, each institution reserves 100 seats for use by the partner institution in each academic year, capping the maximum number of student cross-registering in each semester to 50. Each student can register for a maximum of 1 GE course at the host institution in each semester.
Eligibility
All full-time UGC-funded undergraduates of HKBU and CityU are eligible to apply. Students are strongly encouraged to take advantages of this scheme.
For non-local students:
According to the immigration policy, non-local students should obtain No Objection Letter (NOL) issued by the Hong Kong Immigration Department (ImmD) if they wish to take course at other institutions. In view of the tight schedule of the Scheme and long processing time required by the ImmD, applications from non-local students for this scheme would NOT be accepted.
