Small Talks Circles is a not-for-profit, social education monthly forum aiming at broadening university students’ horizons outside academia while helping them to prepare for a rewarding and fulfilling work life. The hosts for the events are Philip Leung, founder of Small Talks Circles, and Justin Leung, Director, Ambition Hong Kong. Ambition is a successful, mid-size boutique recruitment/ executive search firm with offices in the UK, Japan, Australia and Asia.

The 1.5-hr program is fun and invigorating! The guest speaker for STC season finale will be  Ms. Debbie Chin, who a retail enthusiast who heads up the Merchandising & Buying functions for Babies"R"Us, Preschool and Girls categories for Toys"R"Us Asia operating across 9 countries. . An evening with Debbie is definitely not to be missed, especially for students who are in business stream!

 

The highlight of the evening is the cocktail reception where you will be smooching and rubbing shoulders with STC "Anchors"! Anchors are young professionals from different industries and sectors- company executives, entrepreneurs, researchers, recruiters, engineers, accountants, bankers, lawyers, architects, interior designers, educators, philanthropists, artists, musicians, photographers and indeed, folks from all walks of life! You will enjoy meeting and talking to them, likewise, they will be excited to meet you!

Debbie’s retail journey began as a part time professional clothes stacker while studying for her Bachelor of Business at The University of Technology, Sydney. This start in retail has since taken her to AS Watson (Asia), Tesco (Asia) and Coles Australia up to her present role. She has worked in 12 markets, lived in 5 cities and calls Hong Kong home (for now).

 

In her free time she dragon boats (Go ARK!), kick boxes and plots to build a retail empire.
