In late Feb, a group of colleagues attended an international conference on “General Education and Assessment: A Sea Change in Student Learning”, organized by the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) in Boston. During the three days, participants discussed how to define high-quality learning, explore ways to integrate and scaffold learning of GE in connection with learning in the majors, and build high-impact assessments based on actual student work.

In this lunch gathering, we will have a chance to grasp the essence of the conference. Findings and fresh ideas will be shared by each of our five colleagues, followed by an open discussion for experience sharing.

Our five honorable speakers are:

  • Prof. Kathleen Ahrens from Language Centre
  • Dr. Tu Feng from the School of Chinese Medicine Teaching Division
  • Dr. King Chong from Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning
