Hong Kong Vision: Learning in the Village Community

This is an Experiential Learning Course.

This course is designed to be highly flexible in order to allow interdisciplinary discussion and critical analysis of the vision of Hong Kong’s future. Through exploring the political, culture, and social development of Hong Kong, students will be given the opportunity to share their perspectives on a wide range of issues and, perhaps most importantly, their vision for the future of Hong Kong. The issues and concerns associated with students’ vision of Hong Kong’s future may include rural-urban development, cultural diversity as well as environmental conservation and sustainability. Also, students are encouraged to embark on a community-based learning adventure, as they will be provided with multiple opportunities to encounter and engage with local NGOs and community members. This community-based learning project will help students become equipped with oral history skills and historical/anthropological knowledge.
