LOST & FOUND: Sharing of Mr. Alvin Yeung Ngok-Kiu cum GE Outstanding Students Award Ceremony

Have you ever felt LOST in the busy college life?

Do you wonder how others FOUND their directions of development?

 

Mr. Alvin Yeung was elected as a LegCo member and the leader of a political party at a young age of 35, how did he find his position and ways to contribute to the society? After giving a speech on the topic, Alvin will share more stories in the dialogue session, which will be facilitated by Dr. Kwok Wai Luen, who is a GE teacher from the Department of Religion and Philosophy. You will get to know how Alvin equipped himself with the attributes required in his university life and early career stage to achieve his personal goals, as well as to bring positive impact to society.

 

Followed by the speech and dialogue session, the 5 recipients of the GE Outstanding Students Award will also share stories of their active participation in school life and their personal growth.

 

This event will surely shed light on the LOST and FOUND period that every youngster has to experience and overcome. You will get some useful tips on how to better prepare yourself and plan for your future.

Alvin Yeung Ngok Kiu

Party Leader of Civic Party; Member of Legislative Council

Alvin YEUNG Ngok Kiu is currently a practising barrister. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario, Canada, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Alvin then attended Peking University, China, and University of Bristol, United Kingdom, and obtained a Master of Laws (Constitutional and Administrative Law) and Master of Arts (Legal Studies) respectively. Since 2011, Alvin has been representing the Civic Party to stand in multiple elections, such as the District Council, the Election Committee and the Legislative Council (“LegCo”). He was elected as a member of the Legal Constituency of the Election Committee for the Chief Executive in late 2011. Alvin won the by-election of the LegCo (New Territories East) in February 2016 with 160,880 votes. In September 2016, Alvin was elected again as a member of the LegCo (New Territories East).
