What is your impression on “Chungking Mansions”? How about “Kowloon Mosque” across the street? Is:
Chungking Mansions = the mixing of good and bad; the community of Indians and Pakistanis?
Kowloon Mosque = Muslims; a gorgeous and solemn religious site?
Situated at the center of the prosperous commercial area, Chungking Mansions and Kowloon Mosque are the buildings frequently passed by people going to Tsim Sha Tsui. Even so, are you familiar with their historical backgrounds and their current situations? How much do you know about the secrets and truth inside?
We will guide you to the “Mixing of Different Asian Ethnicities”─Chungking Mansions and the biggest mosque in Hong Kong, helping you understand globalization and the lives of asylum seekers, as well as the Islamic culture. Let’s go deep into the two mysterious places together in this tour!

11:30 – 13:00 Chungking Mansions Tour
This activity will be conducted in Cantonese and is a CCL-recognized event . |
Fee | HKD$150 (Full sponsorship granted to student who attend the activity and meet the requirement) |
Eligibility | Full-time UGC-funded undergraduates of HKBU |
Registration Method | From 3 Sep (Mon) to 12 Sep (Wed), bring along your student ID card and pay HKD$150 in cash as the fee at the GE Office (AAB805, 10am to 12:45pm, 2:30pm to 5:45pm). Full sponsorship of HKD$150 will be granted to students who attend the activity punctually and submit reflective journals by 2 Oct (Tue). Limited quotas. First come, first served! |
