“What is GE?”, “What is the philosophy behind it?”, “Is there just one philosophyor are there competing philosophies, or can various philosophies beintegrated?”, “What are the different types of GE courses now being offered inuniversities in the world?” “What can a professionally oriented School beexpected to gain from a well-run GE program at HKBU?”

Speakers Biography

Dr. Vicki C. H. Ooi
Chief Educator/Director
Eduarts® Ltd

Dr. Vicki Ooi is currently the Chief Educator/Director of Eduarts® Ltd. She began teaching Theatre and English in the English Department of the University of Hong Kong in 1971 and retired after almost 30 years there. She was responsible for curriculum development in theatre studies at HKU and at HKU SPACE. She is one of the Directors at Eduarts®, plans curricula, teaches and trains teachers in professional development workshops in drama in local schools.
