GDAR1026 Food and Humanities

課程內容十分有趣而且發人深省。例如介紹我們的飲食習慣是否環保︰吃非時令蔬菜會增加外地進口蔬菜,增加碳排放,甚至使用更多農藥,對環境造成傷害;眼闊肚窄製造了多少廚餘,然而社會上卻仍有很多人三餐不溫飽,如何減少廚餘,處理廚餘,也是與飲食文化和社會有關的議題。

(Translation) The course content was very interesting and thought-provoking. For example, it introduced whether our eating habits are environment-friendly enough, eating non-seasonal vegetables will lead to increase in importing vegetables and therefore increase in the emission of carbon gases, or even increase in the use of pesticides which damages the environment. A lot of food is wasted by over-ordering, but there are many people in the society who don’t have enough food. How to reduce and handle the food waste is also an issue that is related to food culture and the society.
