2nd Round of Consultation on the Review of the General Education Programme

The current General Education (GE) Programme has been implemented for four academic years since 2012. The University considers that it is an opportune time to conduct a holistic review of the GE Programme, through which we hope to enhance the Programme, in order to accommodate the future developments of academic programmes in our University as we pursue quality teaching and learning.

To conduct the review, a Taskforce was established by the Senate in December 2016. Four consultation sessions were held in February and a Town Hall meeting in early March 2017 to gather views and suggestions from students and colleagues. Based on the feedback collected in these sessions/meeting and other channels, the Taskforce has formulated some draft recommendations on the restructuring of the Programme for a second round of university-wide consultation.

To solicit your views and comments on the draft recommendations, you are cordially invited to participate in the following Town Hall meetings in early April 2017. At this important stage of the review of the GE Programme, your opinion and input will be highly valuable for improving the draft recommendations and enhancing the Programme. We look forward to seeing you at the Town Hall meetings and receiving your views.
