What is the course about?

GDSC1027 aims to introduce the fundamental concepts of Chinese Medicine and biomedical sciences in dealing with issues related to health and diseases. Upon completion of the course, students are expected to envisage the differential roles and approaches of Chinese Medicine and Western medicine in the treatment of human diseases as well in the prevention of illnesses. This course has been implemented as a complementary studies course for many years for students who are not major in Chinese Medicine. The course could serve to broaden the horizon of university students in the knowledge of contemporary medical technology and the modernization of Chinese medicine, as well as to promote general health awareness.
