What is the course about?

GDCV1016 will investigate the various social impacts of advertising in Hong Kong. Issues including advertising and materialism, commercialization of childhood, stereotypes and gender identity, advertising and environment as well as advertising and food choice will be discussed. The social and economic environment where advertising messages are interpreted will be analysed. The regulation of advertising and public attitudes toward advertising will be elaborated.
