What is the course about?

GCVM1025 examines two major practices at the heart of the Christian faith – giving and forgiving, together with the underlying Christian concepts of grace and human person. It explores critically the implications of Christian giving and forgiving for our contemporary culture which is increasingly self-serving and unforgiving. Students will be introduced to the Christian concepts of creation and providence, justification and reconciliation, grace and personhood, God the Giver and the Forgiver, etc. This course evaluates critically these concepts together with all related theories in the contexts of competition and conflict. In our contemporary world that is market-driven and war-torn, this course seeks to help students appreciate Christian faith as a way of life echoing God’s generous giving and forgiving. Moreover, it invites all to participate in the beautiful vision of a world that is shared and healed.

What do the students say about this course?
