What is the course about?

In GCHC1075, students will study the correlation between historical and social changes to some of the important ideas in religion or philosophy. Students will learn to grasp the basic method of reading and interpreting great historical documents and great books which form the conceptual groundwork of modern civilization. This course will also teach students how to develop their ability to think analytically and critically in their self-reflection to find out what ideas have been affecting them. The course encourages collaborative learning. Along with lecture-tutorial format, selected videos, group discussion and other activities may be added to enrich the learning environment.
